Relatively rare and only found in a few locations in Friuli, Picolit is quite difficult to grow. Best known as a dessert wine, where the grapes naturally high acidity lends itself to partial drying. The result is a sweet, yet refreshing wine with candied citrus, apricot and figs. It is sometimes used as a small component in the region’s multi-varietal wines, late harvested to add richness and depth.
