Malvasia Nera

There are several versions of Malvasia Nera that can be divided into sweet or dry. In the dry versions it is a small blending component used infrequently in central and southern Italian reds, though there are some very good examples from Puglia. The best known of the sweet versions is Piedmont’s Malvasia di Casorzo which is usually a sparkling wine.
