Grignolino

Grignolino makes light coloured red and rosé wines with firm acidity and tannins and is mostly grown around the town of Asti. Grignolino derives from the word grignole which means 'many pips' in the Piedmontese dialect and the abundance of pips, or seeds, contributes to the strong tannins in the wine.
