Fresia is a tannic red grape that is related to Nebbiolo. Today, it is somewhat out of fashion but the best examples are brimming with strawberry fruit and a refreshing, though sometimes bitter palate and is capable of cellaring. The wine is often made slightly sparkling, almost a little spritzy.
