Arneis

Almost extinct in the 1970’s, with just two producers making it, Arneis made a comeback in the 1990’s with plantings as far as Australia. The name means ‘little rascal’ in Piedmontese dialect, a reference to it being difficult to grow. Best in the sandy, chalky soil of Roero, it is typically a dry and refreshing with hints of apple and apricot.
