Pinot Noir is quite rare in Aosta and Elio has about one hectare, planted in 1990, with two clones; 777 and 767. The fermentation is in upright wooden fermenters and the wine is aged in mostly 20hl botti casks and a few barriques. Pale red with a distinct Alpine character of minerals and herbs with strawberry fruit and blood orange.
